I cannot find the tracking number for a parcel I sent?

Tracking number are typically of 13 or 11 alphanumeric characters ending in 16 digits or CA.

If you sent a parcel through XpresspostTM, PriorityTM or Regular ParcelTM with delivery confirmation, then you can find the tracking number at the bottom of your tracking receipt.

If you sent your parcel to the U.S.A. or any international country then you can find the the tracking number on your shipping label copy as well as on your receipt.

Note: If you used one of our prepaid products but did not mail your parcel at the time of purchase, the tracking number will not appear on your receipt.

If you can’t find your tracking number, we are unable to see it for you. Canada Post does not keep records of shipments by address or name for privacy reasons. The tracking number is only available on the parcel and on your receipt.

I’m receiving an item. Where can I find the tracking number for it?

You need to contact your sender and request the tracking number for it. If you ordered your item online then you can find tracking number in shipping confirmation email received from the sender.

I shipped an item. Where can I find the tracking number for it?

For the domestic shipment within canada (excluding prepaid envelopes and labels), tracking number consists of 16 digit number.

For the USA and International shipment as well as prepaid envelopes and labels, the tracking number consists of 13 characters which includes letter and numbers.

What is a reference number?

Reference number is provided by shippers, duplicate reference number may exists as it is provided by shipper. To avoid duplicate number, enter a date range when you search for your reference number, only those reference number will be displayed which are active for specific time period.

Canada Post offers 4 Domestics parcel delivery services

  • Regular Parcel – Expected delivery time is within 2 to 13 working days, depending on the destination
  • Expedited Parcel – Only available for business customers. Expected delivery time is within 1 to 13 working days, depending on the destination.
  • Xpresspost – This service is for douments and parcels. Expected delivery time is within 1 to 2 working days between major centres and upto 7 business days for remote areas.
  • Priority – It provides next business day delivery between major centers and 7 business days to more remote locations.

Canada Post International Parcels

Canada Post offers 6 Domestics parcel delivery services

  • Light packet – the maximum weight is 500 g. The maximum dimensions are 380mm × 270mm × 20mm. No delivery time guarantee. No ability to investigate or locate if lost or delayed
  • Small packets – air and surface services are available. The maximum weight is 1 kg (USA) and 2 kg (international). No ability to investigate or locate if lost or delayed
  • Expresspost – USA and International – the maximum weight is 30 kg (USA) and 20 to 30 kg (depending on the international destination). USPS/USPS Other postal administrations prefer mail express / express mail. Handed over as EMS
  • International parcel – air and surface service is available. No time guarantee
  • Priority Worldwide – partnered with FedEx – delivers overnight to the U.S. and over 220 countries in 2-3 business days with detailed tracking
  • Expedited Parcel USA – This is cheaper than the standard international rate. Assigned to USPS as priority mail
