How to file a report if I received damaged consignment?
You can report the damage consignment withing 8 days of delivery at your branch. Swiss post will check the report and whether you are entitled for the compensation.

Even if the value of my goods is less than the CHF 300 exemption limit, Why did my orders go through the custom clearance?
The CHF 300 exemption limit only applies to the passenger transport, means if you cross the border in person. Federal Customs Administration has stipulated following for freight transport – There is an exemption limit of CHF 5 for both customs duties & VAT. The goods must go through import customs clearance if the VAT exceeded.
Customs duties are calculated based on the weight & customs tariff number (type of goods). The goods undergo import custom clearance if the charges exceed CHF 5.
Above what value do I pay customs duty and/or VAT on import consignments?
Every consignment which is coming or going to abroad liable to pay custom duty & VAT.
Only fee exemption limit is applicable and no special tax free limit as with passenger traffic. If the amount is less than CHF 5.00 per custom declaration then value added tax & customs duties are not charged. Customs & VAT charges are considered separately. If you send a gift to private individual living abroad to private individual in Switzerland are duty free for the goods value of CHF 100.00. These rule does apply to the goods purchased on internet. The goods prices exempt from VAT:
- 2.5% VAT (special goods such as books) => CHF 200.00
- 7.7% VAT (applicable to majority of all consignments) => CHF 65.00
