It had 23 terminals in five Southeastern States, approximately 1000 employees, and more than $50 million in sales. In 1987, Preston Trucking purchased the company from the Saia family. Yellow Corporation acquired Preston in 1993.

Clark Brothers Transport, Inc. joined Saia’s network in 2004, which has a presence in nine states and has 16 terminal systems. It offered support to customers in critical Midwestern cities like Chicago, Kansas City, and Minneapolis.
