  • Go to the Settings -> Select Privacy
  • Turn on Location Settings

  • Turn on both Significant Locations and Find My iPhone
  • Go to the Setting -> Select Bluetooth
  • Turn on Bluetooth

When AirTags are separated from their owners, they can play a sound when moved to make it easier for others to find them. If you hear an Airtag or any other sound which you cannot recognize that you believe could be an Airtag, you can then open Find My app on your Apple phone. Make sure the step 2 is completed then you can check the app to see if Airtag is found.

If you’re checking the Find My app after being alerted that an AirTag is traveling with you, you can tap Play Sound on the device to find it more easily.

The Play a Sound option is only available to you if the Airtag owner is not nearby and Apple device is not withing the range. This precision finding feature is only supported to iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 iPhone model.

You can use your iPhone or NFC enabled smartphone to see the Airtag information. Just hold the top of your phone near the white side of the AirTag and wait for it to be recognized.

When the NFC is scanned, notification will appear which leads to a website that will have Airtag’s serial number and last four digits of the owner’s phone number.

If it’s a lost AirTag, the owner may have added their contact information to contact the finder.

If Airtag is disabled then owner cannot see its current location and also not get updates for it. To disable the Airtag you just need to remove the battery. You can do this by pushing and twisting the cover down to open the AirTag and then remove the battery.
